Tiny Vinyl launched last year as a company selling, yes, tiny four-inch records, pitched as environmentally-friendly collectible items. Now the startup has taken the logical next step by releasing a device to play them on.
The Tiny Vinyl Player costs $49.99, and plays the mini-records, either through its built-in stereo speaker or via Bluetooth to another speaker or pair of headphones.
It’s accompanied by two more devices: the $19.99 Tiny Vinyl Crate which stores up to 32 of the records, and the $14.99 Tiny Vinyl 2×2 Frame, which displays four of them in a wood picture-frame.
As with the original launch of the records, there’s a deal with US retailer Target, which has exclusivity on the accessories line as it launches this month.
According to a recent Fast Company profile, Tiny Vinyl has pressed more than 1m records since its launch last Autumn.
BTS, Chappell Roan, Rihanna, Ariana Grande, Olivia Rodrigo, Doechii, Doja Cat, Katseye, Bruno Mars, the Rolling Stones and the K-Pop Demon Hunters cast are among the artists who have released using the format, with each record counting as two track sales for US chart purposes.
