Nathan Bank is a Mexican pop artist with a strong social media following (601.8k on TikTok, 363.1k on Instagram) and a developing listener base on streaming services (34k monthly listeners on Spotify).

When Bank announced his first self-financed headline show in Mexico City, he told his audience he didn’t want anyone to not be able to come to the show because they couldn’t afford it – acknowledging that for some, the ticket price of $400MXN (approx. $22 USD) is the difference between putting food on the table or not.

As part of the tour, he gave the opportunity for fans who live close to Mexico City but can’t afford tickets to comment “Yo Quiero”, and those who wanted to sponsor a ticket to comment “Yo Regalo”.

The artist then matched fans with each other by using a DM automation tool – with the options “Gift a ticket” or “I want a ticket for myself”. It then led you through a customised journey based on your choice, ending with a song demo surprise for sponsors.

How Nathan made headlines

Nourishing the fan community. Outside of selling out the show, Bank’s approach allowed fans to connect with each other through the ticket donation system that was created.

Increased social media reach. Encouraging fans to interact with the post also expanded the artist’s reach (4.1k comments and 2.9k reposts), and gave him the opportunity to introduce himself and his mission for his fan community.
