As ever, the big digital platforms are hastily evolving. Here are some of the past week’s developments of music marketer interest:
YouTube has announced new editing tools for Shorts, as well as an expansion of livestream donation opportunities for Canadian and US creators.
Artist teams posting native Shorts content can now make more precise adjustments to the timing of each element within the video composer screen, as well as explore options to zoom in on each track, re-arrange them, and more.
Over at Meta, advertisers can now access Manus AI within Ads Manager. Meta acquired Manus AI last month, as a tool for AI-assisted task management like report-building, audience research and more. We think this spells a lot of potential for music marketers, especially in regards to AI agent automation.
TikTok Shop’s newest features for artist merch sales allow teams to send out samples to TikTok creators, automate clip posting from live shopping streams, and offer an AI assistant option to help with shopping queries.
The new TikTok’s Creator Picks feature is also a new way for artist teams to find creator partners for in-stream product promotion collaborations – although it remains to be seen how effective it is for music campaigns.
