In April, Canadian lyric licensing and data company LyricFind announced the launch of Artist Unlimited, a new subscription tier that allows users to create videos using Rotor. That’s the UK-based AI-powered video creation platform it acquired in December 2023.
Now LyricFind has entered into a partnership with SwaLay Digital through which Rotor will be integrated into the Indian independent music distribution and rights protection platform. The tie-up enables artists who release music through SwaLay Digital to create professional-quality videos for their tracks in minutes, giving them “a faster and more affordable way to develop the visual content now essential to music discovery”, crucially “without requiring a traditional video shoot or video-editing experience”, says LyricFind.
With Rotor Videos, users can upload a track, choose the type of visual asset they want to create—whether a music video, lyric video, visualiser, Spotify Canvas loop, Apple Music album motion art, or short-form clip for social media—and then select from a library of more than 9m videos and “cinematic visual styles”.
“Independent artists deserve the same tools the majors take for granted,” says Nikhil Jain, the CEO of SwaLay Digital, which has put out music by over 60k acts so far. “Bringing SwaLay together with Rotor Videos by LyricFind puts world-class music video creation into the hands of every artist on our platform.”
